2.1. Definition
Kolak or dinghy is a food from Indonesia made from bananas or sweet potatoes boiled with coconut milk and palm sugar. In general, compote is only available during Ramadan.

2.2. History
The word compote itself has such a deep meaning, the name reference used is Khalik. Khalik is known by the people of Indonesia as God for the creator of the universe, namely Allah SWT. The arrangement of the compote shows that the community draws closer to Allah SWT.
In addition to names, compote materials also have a meaning that is not less philosophical. Like bananas, the most common ingredient used as compote for compote is banana kepok. The word kepok refers to kapok, meaning that the community must be kapok or deterrent in committing sin and immediately repent to Allah SWT.
While other ingredients often used compote is sweet potatoes. Cassava is often known by the name of telo pendem at that time referring to the meaning that the community must bury the mistakes that have been made, so that they can continue to live with the full way of the blessing of Allah SWT.
Initially this compote was served in the month of Syaban, or one month before entering Ramadan. In the month of Syaban, Muslims are invited to draw closer to Allah SWT as a form of piety before the month of blessing. But it turns out the tradition of consuming compote continues into the month of Ramadan as an iftar snack.
Until now the sweet snack with milk is so popular in the month of Ramadan. Even now this snack is not only Javanese tradition, some regions and even countries in Southeast Asia also have almost the same type of food as compote.
"Kolak is not only a Javanese tradition, as in Padang there is kampiun porridge, almost like compote, it's just like porridge," William said.
Even with different contents and variations, snacks with practical materials have gained innovations according to the tastes of each place and this individual still makes Muslims remember their origins which refer to the existence of Allah SWT.

CHAPTER III
CLOSING

3.1. Conclusion
Besides having a distinctive and delicious taste, banana compote is often used as takjil choice, because it quickly makes the stomach feel full. High energy content in these foods makes the body quickly "filled". In other words, banana compote is not recommended for those of you who have already bought many breaking fast menus. Or you can work around this by eating a banana compote later.
Although the content of bananas in these foods can benefit the body, but banana compote should not be consumed in excess. Because the banana compote contains a lot of sugar, so that it can trigger an increase in blood sugar levels.
This condition can increase the risk of developing diabetes. Too much eating sweet foods that contain added sugar can cause weight gain and lead to obesity.
